PAYROLL GIVING
A Few Dollars. Every Payday. A Huge Difference Locally.
Payroll giving makes it simple to support Franklin Hospice directly from your pay. Choose an amount that works for you, and a small regular contribution can help provide specialist care and support for patients, families and whānau across Franklin.

Simple Giving, Built Into Your Pay
You choose how much you would like to give, and your employer deducts that amount directly from your pay. It is a simple way to make a regular contribution without having to remember to donate each month.
Choose Your Amount
Decide how much you would like to donate and which pay periods you would like the deduction to apply to.
Your Employer Deducts It
Your chosen donation is automatically deducted through your normal payroll process.
Receive an Immediate Tax Credit
Payroll donations receive an immediate 33.33% tax credit through a reduction in PAYE.
Support Local Hospice Care
Your regular contribution helps Franklin Hospice continue providing specialist care and support to patients, families and whānau across Franklin.
What Payroll Giving Really Costs You
Because payroll donations receive an immediate 33.33% tax credit through reduced PAYE, the impact on your take-home pay is lower than the amount donated.
Small Contributions. Collective Impact.
If 50 people each donated just $10 a fortnight, together they would contribute approximately $13,000 a year to local hospice care.
Because Local Hospice Care Matters
Hospice is something none of us particularly want to need — until we do.
It might be your parent. Your partner. A colleague. A neighbour. Or somebody you have never met.
Franklin Hospice supports people living with life-limiting illness with specialist palliative care, while also helping families and whānau navigate one of the hardest periods of their lives.
Our services are provided free of charge, but around half of the funding required to deliver them must be raised from our community. Regular payroll giving helps make sure Franklin Hospice is still here when the next local family needs us.
Setting Up Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is voluntary for businesses, but once established it gives employees a simple way to support their own community through your normal payroll process.
Check Your Payroll System
Your business must file Employment Information electronically with Inland Revenue to offer payroll giving. Most payroll providers can help establish payroll giving within your existing system.
Invite Employees to Participate
Participation should always be completely voluntary. Employees simply tell payroll that they would like to support Franklin Hospice, how much they would like to donate, and which pay periods the deduction should apply to.
Process the Donation Through Payroll
Each pay period, the chosen donation is deducted through payroll and the employee receives the 33.33% payroll-giving tax credit through reduced PAYE.
Transfer Donations to Franklin Hospice
The business transfers the collected payroll donations to Franklin Hospice and identifies them as payroll-giving donations.
