Volunteer With UsMAKING THE MOST OF EVERY DONATION
Making Every Donation Count
Every item donated to our Hospice Shop has value, and we work hard to make the most of every donation entrusted to us.
Our volunteers carefully sort donated goods to ensure as much as possible can be reused, repurposed or passed on rather than sent to landfill.
Items that cannot be sold in our shop are considered for other uses, including sharing suitable goods with other charities and community organisations, and repurposing unsaleable textiles into cleaning rags.
By finding new uses for donated goods wherever possible, we reduce waste and disposal costs, support other organisations in our community, and extend the useful life of the items generously given to us.

Whether something is sold, shared, reused or repurposed, our aim is simple: to create as much value as possible from every donation — for Franklin Hospice, our community and the environment.
SHARING OUR KNOWLEDGE
Sharing Knowledge, Building Confidence
Franklin Hospice is committed not only to providing specialist palliative care, but also to sharing our knowledge and experience to help build confidence and capability across our wider community.
Our specialist team can provide education sessions, training seminars and learning opportunities for health professionals, community organisations, schools, workplaces and other groups wanting to better understand palliative care, end-of-life care, grief and the role of hospice.
Education can be tailored to the needs of the group and may include:
