Franklin Hospice High Tea Raises $13,700 for Vital Patient Support
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our generous community for making the 2025 Annual Franklin Hospice High Tea Fundraiser an overwhelming success. Held on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the event brought together 120 passionate attendees who gathered not only to enjoy delicious teas and treats, but to support the essential work that Franklin Hospice provides to patients and whānau in our region.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of all who attended, we proudly raised $13,700, every dollar of which will go directly toward enhancing care for our patients. Attendees were invited to support our unique Wishing Tree, where they could purchase specific items to directly benefit hospice patients. These items included petrol for home visits to patients, printing costs, oral swabs, gloves, car WOFs, sodium chloride injections, swabs, and sympathy cards — practical items that make a tangible difference in the lives of those we care for.
A highlight of the afternoon was an inspiring speech by Miriama Kamo, who shared her personal journey toward living more sustainably and the powerful ways individual choices can contribute towards a more sustainable Aotearoa. Her words resonated deeply with the audience and beautifully aligned with the values we embrace at Franklin Hospice — especially through our Franklin Hospice Shop, where we actively promote sustainability by encouraging the purchase of quality pre-loved clothing.
Guests were also treated to a vibrant fashion show by Leanne Borich of Red Trinity, showcasing pre-loved fashion with contemporary flair. The runway brought energy, elegance, and a touch of glamour to the event, delighting everyone in attendance.
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed their time and talents to make the High Tea a success. Your support helps us continue to provide comfort, dignity, and dedicated care to those facing life-limiting illness.
Together, we are making a difference — one cup of tea, one generous gift, and one heartfelt moment at a time.
❤️Thank you from all of us at Franklin Hospice❤️
